The measuring method involves applying certain voltage (V-1,V-2) to the passive load, where the voltage is constant or slowly variable, such that the effect of reactances is insignificant. A sufficient time is passed till the transients in the load are terminated and a primary current value (I-1) and a secondary current value (I-2) of the current flow through the passive load. The passive load is determined by an estimate of the resistance (Rs), in which the difference of the values of both the applied voltages is divided by the difference of both measured current values. An independent claim is included for a diagnostic system.
