PURPOSE: A method for preparing tetrahydroquinoline compounds using microwave energy is provided to shorten reaction time and to synthesize the compounds with high yield. CONSTITUTION: A method for synthesizing tetrahydroquinoline compounds comprises a step of reacting ortho-dialkyl amino cinnamic aldehyde compounds of chemical formula 2 with an amine catalyst of chemical formula 1 using microwave energy under the presence of acid additives to prepare tetrahydroquinoline compounds. The amine catalyst is C1-C8 alkyl amine, cyclic amine or the same containing a hetero atom. A method for synthesizing tetrahydroquinoline compounds comprises a step of the ortho-dialkyl amino cinnamic compounds with the amine catalyst under the presence of the acid additive.
