<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration or breakage of an optical disk recording medium by a reproduction power even if the optical disk recording medium having a single recording layer or two recording layers is erroneously determined to be a multilayer optical disk recording medium having three or more recording layers when the optical disk recording medium is mounted thereon. <P>SOLUTION: When an optical disk recording medium is mounted, an optical pickup part performs a focus search to the optical disk recording medium, and a type of the optical disk recording medium is determined on the basis of the result of the focus search. When it is determined to be a multilayer optical disk recording medium having three or more recording layers, an optical disk device sets, to the optical pickup part, a reproduction power for optical disk recording mediums having single or two recording layers and having a same standard to that of the multilayer optical disk recording medium having three or more recording layers, and reads the optical disk information representing the type of the optical disk recording medium by the reproduction operation by the set reproduction power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
