The clamping device (1) has component (4) located within housing (2) in axial direction. The outer surface (6) of component is in contact with ball (5). An intermediate space (11) is formed between outer surface (6) of component and inner surface (10) of annular collar (9). The inclination angles (alpha ,beta ) of outer surface of component and inner surface of collar is designed such that height of space is reduced upon displacement of component in axial direction of housing due to annular collar is deflected by radial force (FR) transmitted from component over balls, outwards.
