[Class 6 (ii).] In a lawn-mower of the type in which the side-members b of the frame have inwardlycranked back portions b<2> and driving wheels a outside of the crank portions, the side-members are connected by independent tie-rods b3, b4, b<5> situated respectively at the rear end of the frame, at the front end of the cranked portions and at the front end of the frame. The cutter c is driven by a chain or train of gearing from the shaft d<1> of a pinion d gearing with internal teeth on one of the wheels a. A supporting roller e is arranged between the tie-rod b<4> and the cutter c. The cutter projects so as to cut the grass in front of the wheels a. It is stated that the rotary cutter may have straight blades operating in association with a rigid blade having a slanting edge.</p> |
