An unutilized capacity of the movement unit is determined (115) in real time. A correction for the movement unit is determined (117) from the unutilized capacity. Dynamic characteristics of the movement unit are changed (105) in accordance with the deduced correction and the thermal load, where the dynamic characteristics are chosen from acceleration, feed speed, rotational speed, and jerk.
