<p>There is described a self-braking motor that comprises a stator, a plurality of permanent magnets and magnetic hysteresis material. The permanent magnets are disposed concentrically between the stator and the magnetic hysteresis material and an air gap is provided between the magnetic hysteresis material and the permanent magnets. The self-braking motor has a first configuration, where the magnetic hysteresis material rotates with the permanent magnets, and a second configuration, where the magnetic hysteresis material is restricted from rotating with the permanent magnets.</p> |
