381,678. Railway signal interlocking. BRITISH POWER RAILWAY SIGNAL CO., Ltd., Windsor Works, Slough, Buckinghamshire, and TATTERSALL, A. E., Hayton House, Knapton Lane, Acomb, Yorkshire. Aug. 29, 1931, No. 24356. Drawings to Specification. [Class 105.] Electric contact devices comprising superposed spring contacts housed in a casing mounted on the upper side of the quadrant between adjacent levers of an interlocking frame are actuated by the downward movement of the catch rod which is provided with a lateral lug to engage a spring-returned plunger projecting through the cover of the casing. A number of such casings of arcuate form may be secured on each quadrant arm for operation at appropriate positions of the lever, wires being led in series through end apertures of the casings. The entrance end of the first casing is spigoted to accommodate a cablepipe adapter which is cranked to fit the horizontal part of the interlocking frame. To protect the plungers against accidental movement they are covered by hoods formed either on the quadrants or on the casing covers. The casings may be made of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark Bakelite. |
