The printed circuit board (PCB) (12) has two portions (20, 24) comprising two sets of electronic components (22, 26). A switching power supply circuit (34) is provided with an input part and an output part, where the input part is connected to one of the portions and the output part is connected to the other portion. A modification unit (36) modifies switching frequency of the switching power supply circuit according to two distinct data values (32) to be transmitted between the two portions. A measuring unit measures pulse frequency at an output of the switching power supply circuit. An independent claim is also included for a method for communicating data from a PCB.
