Apparatus suitable for measuring parameters of a person's foot, comprises a bed 1 on which a foot can be placed, and at least one measuring tape 9 for measuring the circumference of the foot. A data processing tablet 14 with a camera is mounted above the bed 1 and arranged to record an image of the entire foot and the upper surface of the bed which has calibration markings 15 which are within the field of view of the camera. The tablet 14 has software which analyses an image of the foot and the bed 1 recorded by the camera, and uses stored data in respect of the calibration marking 15 to calculate a scaling factor which relates dimensions on the recorded image to true dimensions on the bed 1. This scaling factor is used to calculate true dimensions of the foot from the foot parameters shown on the image. |
