The device has a socket housing (3) i.e. dual RJ45socket housing, provided with electric contacts (7) that are led out from the housing to a printed circuit board assembly. The housing is partially enclosed by a shield. An integrated switching circuit of a chip (6) is arranged within the housing and provided with Ethernetports and an application-specific interface (12). The ports are connected with sockets (1, 2) of the housing. The interface is connected with the electric contacts.
