<p>An electrical connector including a housing (11; 51) having an opening (12; 52) through which a flat circuit device (40) is inserted into the housing (11; 51), conductive contacts (13; 53) arranged on the housing (11; 51), a conductive shell (14; 54) provided with a holding member (20A; 20B; 60A; 60B) for engaging with the flat circuit device (40) to hold the same, and a releasing member (30A; 30B; 80A; 80B) provided on the housing (11, 51) with a manipulatable portion (31A; 31B; 81A; 81B) and a pressing portion (32A; 32B) for engaging with the holding member (20A; 20B; 60A; 60B), wherein the manipulatable portion (31A; 31B; 81A; 81B) is formed to be movable in a direction along which the conductive contacts (13; 53) are arranged and the pressing portion (32A; 32B) is operative to move for pressing the holding member (20A; 20B; 60A; 60B) so as to cause the same to disengage from the flat circuit device (40) when the manipulatable portion (31A; 31B; 81A; 81B) is moved in the direction along which the conductive contacts (13; 53) are arranged under a condition wherein the holding member (20A; 20B; 60A; 60B) is put in engagement with the flat circuit device (40) to hold the same.</p> |
