METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING HYBRID MEDIA CONTENT IN A MULTIMEDIA SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A complex media content transceiving method in a multimedia system and a device thereof are provided to easily identify a position or a transmission timing of an M-unit including control information and efficiently notify a type of an asset. CONSTITUTION: A source M-Unit input unit(401) receives an M-unit of various kinds multimedia sources. A multimedia source identifying unit(403) grants an asset ID to a group of an M-unit. The multimedia source identifying unit identifies the multimedia source. A multimedia source memory(405) stores generated assets. A transmission unit(407) transmits the assets through a communication network. A control unit(409) collects various kinds of MFUs(Media Fragment Units) provided from the multimedia source. The control unit controls the generation and transmission of the asset, the MFU, and the M-unit.
