Labyrinth seal system for a gas turbine

The system (50) has a stator surrounding a rotor. The stator and rotor axially overlap each other by forming an annular gap. A labyrinth seal (64) includes a rotor-side seal partner and a U-ring (56), where the rotor-side seal partner includes sealing tips (60) for sealing the annular gap. The sealing tips extend in a circumferential direction and are helically designed. The helical design is selected such that a pumping action, which hinders a through flow of the labyrinth seal, is produced. The rotor includes two rotor disks (40, 42) with seal arm sections (46, 48) in an overlapping section.
