Various systems for magnetically attaching an object to a panel or wall are described. Embodiments include a guide arrangement with a supporting member 140, suitable for use as a curtain rail, which supports magnetic elements 142, suitable for attaching curtain hooks (Figure 15a). The supporting member may be recessed into the panel or wall (Figure 10c), more than one member may be provided (Figure 13), spacer units 143 may be included, and a motor may be used to move the magnetic elements (Figure 20 for example). Also provided are: a device (Figure 2) which comprises a magnetic element and an elongate connecting member; a device (Figure 3) which comprises a magnetic element and a friction reducing element; a system (Figure 11 for example) which comprises first and second magnetic elements and a device that comprises third and fourth magnetic elements; a device (Figure 7f for example), suitable for supporting a picture frame, which comprises a magnetic element and a connecting arrangement; and a guide arrangement (Figure 14e for example) which comprises first and second supporting members, and first and second magnetic elements, the first magnetic element having its north pole facing away from a panel or wall and the second its south pole facing away from the panel or wall. |
