<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Ti-base alloy which has superior biocompatibility and can produce excellent spring characteristics and shape memory effect and also can attain manufacturing cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The Ti-base alloy consists of, by atom, 0.01 to 20% Y, 1 to 20% X1 (where X1 is one element among V, Cr, Zr, Nb, Mo, Hf and Ta or a combination of several elements among them), 0 to 20% X2 (where X2 is one element among Al, Ag and Sn or a combination of several elements among them), and the balance Ti with inevitable impurities. Owing to the addition of the Y in the above percentage, crystal grains of the Ti-base alloy can be refined and intercrystalline cracking and slip deformation can be suppressed. In addition, owing to the addition of the X1 element in the above percentage, β-phase of the Ti-base alloy excellent in deformability can be stabilized.
