<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a distyrylbenzene derivative useful as a material for forming a photoelectric conversion element having an excellent hole transportation characteristics and excellent durability, as a material for forming a light emitting element having an excellent light emitting characteristics and excellent durability, and as a material for forming an active layer of a thin film transistor. <P>SOLUTION: The distyrylbenzene is represented by following general formula (I) : Ar<SB>2</SB>-HC=HC-Ar<SB>1</SB>-CH=CH-Ar<SB>2</SB>äwherein Ar<SB>1</SB>represents a divalent group of a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon or an aromatic heterocycle; Ar<SB>2</SB>represents general formula (II); R<SB>1</SB>, R<SB>2</SB>, R<SB>3</SB>, R<SB>5</SB>, R<SB>6</SB>and R<SB>9</SB>individually represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group; R<SB>4</SB>, R<SB>7</SB>and R<SB>8</SB>individually represent a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group}. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
