<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling support device for vehicle for preventing a safety distance longer than necessary from being secured for a pedestrian. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This traveling support device for vehicle for supporting the traveling of a vehicle so that a safety distance can be secured when the vehicle approaches very close to a pedestrian present in a vehicle traveling direction detects the face direction of the pedestrian, and estimates the visual field of the pedestrian from the face direction. When the vehicle is present within the estimated visual field of the pedestrian, the traveling support device sets an avoidance region smaller than the other case, and runs the vehicle to the destination so that the vehicle can be prevented from running through the avoidance region.
