PURPOSE: A video server and an operation method thereof are provided to minimize an operation of a hard disk by storing a video clip through a buffer memory having a temporary storage function. CONSTITUTION: A video storing unit(100) includes one or more hard disks. At least one hard disk stores a plurality of video clips. A buffer memory(200) temporarily stores video clips. A buffer control unit(300) selects the video clip stored in the buffer memory based on a request about the video clip of a client. The buffer control unit selects a client which supplies the video clip through the buffer memory.
