<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for detecting driver's condition and a method for detecting consciousness state which accurately determine the consciousness state of a driver. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for detecting driver's condition 100 used for detecting the state of consciousness of a driver includes display means 20 for displaying display information whose contents are changable, imaging means 11 for imaging a face image of the driver, facial direction/sight direction-detecting means 16 for detecting at least one of the facial direction and the sight direction from the face image, screen-changing means 19 and 32 for changing a part or all of the screen of the display means 20 which are arranged in the sight direction detected by the facial direction/sight direction-detecting means 16, and driver's consciousness-determining means 18 and 33 for detecting the state of consciousness of a driver on the basis of whether or not the condition of the eyes of the driver changes in response to changes of a part or all of the screen by the screen-changing means 19 and 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
