<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic polishing method for easily grinding and polishing a surface of even a comparatively soft member by magnetic polishing, non-contact polishing, excellently polishing the complicated surface shape, and finishing the surface to a proper mirror surface without requiring polishing over a long time. <P>SOLUTION: A specimen 1 is fixed on a cooling device 2. A polishing turning tool 3 is arranged to face to the specimen 1 with non-contact. Magnetic polishing liquid 4 is made to exist in a space with the specimen 1 and abrasive grain is mixed in the magnetic polishing liquid 4. By starting the cooling device 2, the specimen 1 is cooled to a prescribed cooling temperature. By starting a driving means, the polishing turning tool 3 is made to perform a prescribed interlocking operation. Fluid polishing is performed by magnetic clusters generated in the magnetic polishing liquid 4. A cooling temperature of the specimen 1 is set to a temperature lower than a normal temperature and is set to a temperature higher than a coagulating point of the magnetic polishing liquid 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
