PURPOSE: A substation automation system and a substation monitoring data obtaining method are provided to obtain high precision digital data by using a plurality of merging units performing AD conversion according to different measuring ranges. CONSTITUTION: A substation(10) includes a transformer(11), a bus line(12), a line(13), and a breaker(14). A current merging unit(210) includes a first current merging unit(211), and a second current merging unit(212). A voltage merging unit(220) generates voltage data by converting a received analog voltage signal to a digital voltage signal. The voltage merging unit transmits the voltage data to an IED(Intelligent Electronic Device)(230) through a process bus(250). An HMI(Human Machine Interface)(240) provides received monitoring data from the IED to a user.
