PURPOSE: An air bag control unit is provided to safely control vehicle driving by transferring sensor data to ESC through a common CAN bus when the sensor data is not transferred to ESC(Electronic Stability Control). CONSTITUTION: An air bag control unit(ACU) comprises a communication unit(110), a detection unit(120), and a control unit(130). The communication unit is connected to ESC(200) of vehicles through exclusive controller area network(CAN) bus or common CAN bus according to the control signal. The communication unit transmits CAN message to the ESC. The control unit determines communication failure state of the exclusive CAN bus based on the detected communications state.
