PURPOSE: An image processing apparatus and a method thereof are provided to generate a result image in case of rendering an image including a virtual object in a color image about a real object. CONSTITUTION: A modeling unit(110) generates a three-dimensional model corresponding to a real object from an input depth image and an input color image. A calculating unit(120) performs four tone-based rendering about an input virtual object. The calculating unit generates a differential image. A rendering unit(130) generates a result image including the virtual object by synthesis of the differential image and the input color image.
