PURPOSE: A substrate for a display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent contamination of the substrate's surface by forming a texture portion and implement hydrophobic surface. CONSTITUTION: A texture portion(110) is prepared in one side of a substrate(100). The surface of the texture portion has intagliated patterns or embossed patterns. The texture portion is made of ceramic. The ceramic is AZO or GZO. The substrate is polished to be transparent. A dipping process is performed on the substrate.
