A PROCESS FOR EXTRACTING SAPONINS FROM GREEN TEA SEEDS

PURPOSE: A method for extracting tea saponin from green tea seeds is provided to effectively extract the tea saponin without expensive equipment. CONSTITUTION: A method for extracting tea saponing from green tea seeds comprises: a step of crushing the green tea seeds and obtaining green tea seed embryo; a step of pulverizing the seed embryo and treating with non-polar organic solvent to remove a fat layer; a step of extracting the fat layer with low carbon number alcohol solution and collecting a supernatant; a step of adsorbing the supernatant with 4-bromophthal anhydride and treating with NaOH solution to isolate crude saponin; and a step of re-adsorbing the crude saponin to 4-bromophthal anhydride and treating with low carbon number alcohol solution.
