PURPOSE: A fused ring compound and a method for preparing the same are provided to be used as a basic frame of a natural product with physiological activity and to develop a novel drug. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a fused ring compound comprises intramolecular cyclization of arene-alkane derivative of chemical formula 3 under the presence of a trifluoromethane sulfonic acid catalyst. The method comprises intramolecular cyclization of arene-alkane derivative of chemical formula 4 under the presence of the trifluoromethane sulfonic acid catalyst. The cyclization is performed in one or more solvent selected from the group consisting of dichloromethane(DCM), dichloroethaneD(DCE), toluene, acetonitrile(MeCN), nitromethane, tetrahydrofurane(THF), N,N-dimethylformamide(DMF), or N,N-dimethylacetamide(DMA).
