PURPOSE: An automatic focus control apparatus and a method thereof are provided to shorten a photographing time by performing AF operation for next photographing operation. CONSTITUTION: An imaging device is converted in a still image capture mode(S302). An AF(Auto Focus) control device starts driving of the shutter cutoff(S303). The device indicates the driving starting to a lens(S305). The device performs shutter brake in order to terminate the driving of the shutter(S307). The device determines the termination of the AF driving and iris driving(S309,S310).
