Composition in the form of a water-in-oil emulsion comprises: particles A of hydrophobic titanium oxide, in the form of powder or oil dispersion, treated with fatty acids or their salts; particles B of titanium oxide doped with one or more transition metals; and/or particles C of hydrophobic titanium oxide treated with at least one silicone; provided that ratio of the particles A on the particles B and/or particles C are 0.5/1-3/1, preferably 1.5/1-2.5/1. An independent claim is included for a process for filtering UV rays comprising applying the composition to a surface of a keratinous material, preferably to skin and/or hair.
