Disclosed is an antiseptic cap of a flexible material having an annular shape for use with an access device to reduce commination. The cap comprises a housing having an annular sidewall defining an antiseptic fluid chamber, the housing having opposed first and second ends with an end wall closing the first end, the sidewall having an inner surface with threads extending along a portion of the inner surface. A thread cover to prevent ingress of contaminants into the chamber and retain the antiseptic fluid, is at the second end of the housing, the thread cover creating a physical barrier seal between the chamber and outside the chamber when the housing is attached to, and the thread cover contacts, an access device. The thread cover extends out from the second end of the housing and radially inward over a portion of the chamber.
