Disclosed is the use of 4-cyano-1H-imidazole-2-carboxylic acid { 2-cyclohex-1-enyl-4-[1-(2-dimethylamino-acetyl)-piperidin-4-yl]-phenyl} -amide or a solvate, hydrate, tautomer or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in the preparation of a medicament for use in a method for treating or preventing a hematological malignancy, by reducing kinase activity of FLT3, provided the hematological malignancy is not hairy cell leukaemia, and provided that said use does not include use of a famesyl transferase inhibitor; and wherein said method optionally comprises administration of a chemotherapeutic agent, gene therapy, immunotherapy or radiation therapy.
