The self-supporting container (1) comprises an edible part (2), and a protective part (3) for gripping the container by hand. A protective portion is rigid and transparent, and has a base and a cavity upwardly facing to receive a lower portion of the edible part. A bottom of the cavity has a central recessed area to accommodate a sticky material deposited before interlocking of the edible part on the protective part, and has a curved form. Grooves radiate from the central recessed area. The edible part is a moldable or formable material, and is a sugar, a chocolate or a bread.
