USE OF BUTANOL AND ETHANOL IN FUELS FOR SPARK IGNITION ENGINES

Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a fuel for spark-ignition engines, the fuel comprising 15-50 per cent by volume of base fuel, 15-65 per cent by volume of ethanol and 15 to 50 per cent C4 alcohol (butanol / butyl alcohol), which method comprises mixing: (i) a mixture I, comprising 15-30 per cent by volume of a base fuel and 70-85 per cent by volume of ethanol; with (ii) a mixture II, comprising 30-50 per cent by volume of base fuel and 50 to 70 per cent by volume of C4 alcohol.
