Insecticidal, pesticidal and miticidal compounds containing an imine group and either an indanyl or cyclopentenopyridinyl bicyclic group

Disclosed is a nitrogen-containing compound of Formula (I) and methods of its preparation. Q is a substituted indanyl moiety or a cyclopentenopyridinyl moiety. A specific example of compound of Formula (I) is: N-[5-{ (Z)-3-(3,5-dichlorophenyl)-4,4,4-trifluoro-1-hydroxyimino-2-butenyl} -indane-1-yl]-3-methoxybutyric acid amide. Compounds of formula (I) are useful for controlling harmful organisms such as insects, mites and pests. The compounds are therefore active ingredients in insecticides, pesticides and miticides.
