A compressor is configured so that a resonance muffler (104h) connected to a discharge conduit (104f) leading from an annularly disposed discharge chamber (142) can be easily disposed and so that an increase in the size of the compressor is minimized. The discharge chamber (142) is annularly disposed on the outer side radially of a cylinder head (104) so as to surround a suction chamber (141). A circumferential portion of the annularly disposed discharge chamber (142) is partitioned off by a partition member (150), and the second conduit (connection conduit)(104f2) of the discharge conduit is formed on the rear side of the partition member (150). The second conduit (104f2) is connected at one end thereof to a discharge port (104e) through the first conduit (104f1) of the discharge conduit and is connected at the other end thereof to the resonance muffler (104h). A communication hole (104f3) is formed in the partition member (150), and the communication hole (104f3) connects the discharge chamber (142) and the second conduit (104f2). The resonance muffler (104h) is provided so as to extend further inward radially of the cylinder head (104) or downward thereof than the second conduit (104f2).
