PURPOSE: An upper cap for a telescopic fishing rod is provided to prevent fishing line from being pressed by forming a groove on the cap. CONSTITUTION: An upper cap for a telescopic fishing rod comprises a handle part(20) and an insertion part(21). The handle part is formed with an exhaust groove(20a) from which fishing line is exhausted. The insertion part is combined with the lower surface of the handle part. A moving groove(21a) is formed in the longitudinal direction of the insertion part. The exhaust groove and moving groove communicate with each other. The handle part is made of timber, aluminum, or synthetic resin. The insertion part is made of elastic body.
