PURPOSE: An absorbent manufacturing method for removing phosphorus from sewage and wastewater is provided to absorb phosphorus to be removed from sewage and wastewater using red mud which is the byproduct of an alumina extracting process. CONSTITUTION: An absorbent manufacturing method for removing phosphorus from sewage and wastewater includes the following steps: red mud is pulverized and refined to obtain alumina; the alumina is shaped into pre-determined sizes to prepare absorption filtering media; the absorption filtering media is plasticized at a pre-determined temperature; the plasticized product is released and cooled to remove non-plasticized iron oxide and residual alkali components; and the absorption filtering media is dried.
