<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a selection device or the like for easily selecting items frequently selected. <P>SOLUTION: The selection device 200 selects items from a tree structure formed by associating items with a plurality of nodes. A storage unit 201 stores the tree structure, the items associated with the nodes included in the tree structure, and any of the nodes in the tree structure (hereinafter referred to as "node of interest"). A moving unit 202 updates the storage unit 201 in response to user request so as to move the node of interest from a root node to any of the leaf nodes in the tree structure. An output unit 203 outputs items as selection results. If the frequency of reaching a leaf node meets predetermined requirements, an updating unit 204 updates the storage unit 201 so as to use a new leaf node to be associated with the item associated with the leaf node and the items associated with the nodes to the leaf node, as a child node of the root node in the tree structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
