<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery charge/discharge equipment with a fire extinguisher which, even when a fire breaks out in a charging/discharging battery, minimizes damage incidental to fire extinguishing and efficiently performs fire extinguishing of the battery, and to provide a method of extinguishing the fire of the battery charge/discharge equipment. <P>SOLUTION: Fire detection sensors 21, 22 are arranged in each test shelf 16 onto which a battery 19 is transported by a stacker crane 13, a gas injection type primary fire extinguisher is installed in the stacker crane 13, and an immersion tank 30 is provided to one of the test shelves 16. When the fire of the battery 19 is detected by the fire detection sensors 21, 22, fire extinguishing is performed by the primary fire extinguisher. When the fire of the battery 19 is not extinguished even when performing fire extinguishing using primary fire extinguisher, the battery 19 is transported to the immersion tank 30 by the stacker crane 13 to perform secondary fire extinguishing. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
