<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of recording or reproducing various types of optical disks, while reducing a delay due to retry processing. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device is equipped with an optical pickup device having a light source and a photodetector. The optical disk device includes a signal generation part for generating a control signal from an electric signal acquired through photoelectric conversion, a servo control part for controlling the optical pickup device on the basis of the control signal, and a recording part for recording pickup information indicating types of optical disks supported by the optical pickup device. When an error is detected in the spin-up process of an optical disk, a main control part determines a type of optical disk which is not supported by the optical pickup device according to the pickup information, and controls the servo control part not to spin up under assumption of an optical disk not supported. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
