<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve feeding performance by stabilizing paper face heights during feeding while maintaining a lift up speed, in an image forming device mechanically carrying out ON/OFF of a lifter drive. <P>SOLUTION: The sheet feeding device includes a storage cassette 33, a sheet elevating part 4, and a sheet feeding part 5. The sheet elevating part 4 includes a lifter mechanism 41 lifting and lowering a middle plate 40, a planetary gear mechanism 7 transmitting drive to the lifter mechanism 41, and a switching mechanism 6 turning the planetary gear mechanism 7 ON/OFF. The switching mechanism 6 has a paper face lever 61, an engaging member 67 freely engaging with the planetary gear mechanism 7 and capable of moving it, an interlocking rotor 65 turning the planetary gear mechanism 7 ON by engaging the engaging member 67 with the planetary gear mechanism 7 in interlock with the paper face lever 61 and turning it OFF by disengagement, and a pulling spring 66 energizing the interlocking rotor 65. The interlocking rotor 65 moves the engaging member 67 by using energizing force of the pulling spring 66, and turns OFF the planetary gear mechanism 7 from ON. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
