A method and a system for configuring Public Warning System (PWS) key information in a wireless communication system. The method comprises: a Cell Broadcast Center (CBC) sending to a network entity in a wireless communication system, a message for key distribution carrying PWS key information; and after receiving the message for key distribution, the network entity in the wireless communication system saving the PWS key information. The PWS comprises a CBC and a first network entity. The CBC is configured to send the PWS key information to the first network entity. The first network entity is configured to save the PWS key information. The present invention provides a specific solution of how to obtain PWS key information by a network entity for distributing the PWS key information to a UE, and lays a foundation for the UE obtaining PWS key information from a network and implementing secure protection of a PWS.
