<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll having high oil removal performance at an initial stage, and having high grip force without requiring break-in use, and to provide a cleaning device having the roll mounted thereon. <P>SOLUTION: In this roll 1 for removing, squeezing, and cleaning oil attached to a steel plate, a nonferrous metal plate, a resin plate, or a film-like surface to be cleaned, the roll 1 has a roll part 2 and a pedestal 3. The roll part 2 is formed by laminating a plurality of substantially circular ring roll pieces 4 comprising nonwoven fabric 11 on an outer circumference of the pedestal 3. The nonwoven fabric 11 comprises a plurality of fibers 12 and a binder 13 binding the fibers 12.
