THREAD, SHEET-LIKE REINFORCING FIBER BASE MATERIAL, PREFORM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FIBER REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a used amount of a binder required for securing shape stability of a preform made by forming a sheet-like reinforcing fiber base material as compared with a case where a powder binder is used.

SOLUTION: A thread 14 with a surface on which a film 16 of a resin composition is formed by a sizing treatment where the thread 14 is treated and dried by the emulsion of the resin composition having a thermoplastic epoxy resin as a main component and having a function of a sizing agent and a function of the binder in combination is obtained. The sheet-like reinforcing fiber base material 17 formed of the threads 14 is formed in a laminated state and the preform 20 is formed.
