<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a metal ring in which the surface hardness of a welded part is prevented from deteriorating. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a metal ring includes: a welding step of rolling up a metal plate 11 and butting both end surfaces in a circumferential direction on each other to weld both end surfaces to each other; a barrel step of subjecting a surface of the metal ring 13 obtained by the welding step to barrel polishing; and a nitriding step of subjecting the metal ring 13 to nitriding treatment. In the welding step, both end surfaces to be butted and welded of the metal plate 11 are welded while both end surfaces are made to be thicker than a part other than the welded part, and between the welding step and the barrel step, the method for manufacturing a metal ring further includes a welded part polishing step of scraping projections 255 generated in the thickened welded part that is welded in the welding step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
