APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DECOMPOSING HYDROGEN PEROXIDE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote discharge of gas produced when decomposing hydrogen peroxide from a decomposing material layer and to suppress fall of decomposition efficiency due to stay of gas bubbles in the decomposing material layer, for decomposing hydrogen peroxide by making water to be treated pass through the decomposing material layer formed by being filled with granular decomposing material.

SOLUTION: The apparatus for decomposing hydrogen peroxide is provided with: the decomposing material layer through which hydrogen peroxide-containing water to be treated is made to pass and which is filled with a decomposing material of a particle shape or a net shape for decomposing hydrogen peroxide to water and oxygen; a supply apparatus for supplying water to be treated so as to pass through the decomposing material layer with an upward flow; and a degassing flow straightening rod which is arranged in the decomposing material layer and which extends so as to protrude to an upper surface from a lower surface of the decomposing material layer.
