<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To promote appropriate countermeasures by letting a resident know that an earthquake has occurred at the occurrence of an earthquake. <P>SOLUTION: An alarm for, when abnormality in a monitoring area is detected by an abnormality detection part, notifying the abnormality in the monitoring area by a notification part includes: an earthquake detection part; a remote control signal reception part for receiving a remote control signal for operating other equipment; a storage part for storing the remote control signal received by the remote control signal reception part; a remote control signal transmission part for transmitting the remote control signal stored in the storage part; and a control part for, when an earthquake is detected by the earthquake detection part, making the remote control signal transmission part transmit the remote control signal.
