METHOD FOR TURBOCHARGER PROTECTION IN FRIGID REGIONS

Disclosed is a method for turbocharger protection in frigid regions, including the following steps: setting a temperature threshold before the start-up of an engine; starting up the engine, detecting the ambient temperature, and comparing the detected ambient temperature with the temperature threshold; if the ambient temperature is detected to be higher than the temperature threshold, the throttle motor runs normally, and the engine accelerates; when the ambient temperature is detected to be not higher than the temperature threshold, the throttle motor is automatically locked, the engine is left to run idle for T minutes and thereafter the throttle motor is enabled to run normally. This method enables sufficient lubrication of the turbocharger in a frigid environment, thus preventing damage to the turbocharger, and prolonging the service life of the turbocharger and the engine.
