<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic image display device and a control method by which an excellent stereoscopic image can be more easily observed. <P>SOLUTION: A stereoscopic image display device comprises: a display means which enables planar viewing by displaying a planar view image and stereoscopic viewing by displaying a stereoscopic view image; an imaging means which obtains a captured image of an observation area in which the images displayed by the display means can be observed; a switching instruction receiving means which receives an instruction for switching from the planar view image to the stereoscopic view image; a generation means which, when the switching instruction receiving means receives the switching instruction, generates a presentation image, in which an image showing a positional relation between a vision area where the stereoscopic viewing can be normally performed in the observation area and a reverse vision area being an area other than the vision area is superimposed on the captured image, by using area information indicating the positional relation; and a display control means which causes the display means to display the presentation image as the planar view image prior to the display of the stereoscopic view image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
