<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speaker or microphone that can easily remove a foreign matter, such as iron sand adsorbed by a magnetic leakage flux, without deteriorating function and performance as the speaker or microphone. <P>SOLUTION: For example, the speaker includes: a magnetic flux generation member 21; a conductor (conductor configured to pass a current as an input signal therethrough, namely, a voice coil 22) disposed so as to vibrate in a magnetic field generated by the magnetic flux generation member; a diaphragm 23 configured to vibrate together with the conductor; and a demagnetization and magnetization coil 24 which is disposed around the magnetic flux generation member, and can demagnetize and magnetize the magnetic flux generation member.
